2019 Subaru Ascent is Hitting the Trail, and it's Soon to Reach a Summit Near You

No longer a rumor, the sizable three-row, up to eight-passenger family SUV is coming soon to dealerships, and with no shortage of apex-tier features worthy of the name.

The 2019 Subaru Ascent is set to appear in a four-trim gamut from base Ascent and Ascent Premium to luxuriously-appointed Ascent Limited and distance-going Ascent Touring. Built on the new Subaru Global Platform making extensive use of high-strength steel, the new Subaru SUV will be a model of durability and performance, too.

To wit, we Subaru enthusiasts here in Gastonia can look forward to a workhorse turbocharged 260-horsepower SUBARU BOXER engine capable of a terrain-commanding 277 pound-feet of torque, and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive comes standard alongside X-MODE® with Hill Descent Control for wheel slip reduction while managing bumps in the off-road. Factor in a looming 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and obstacle avoidance, too, becomes a matter of course.

Seasoned traveling families will surely appreciate standard raised roof rails and a generous towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds for taking along a boatload and a trailerful, as well as the possibilities afforded by an available Class III trailer hitch and a huge selection of optional Thule racking accessories. For the road, Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology is now standard throughout the new Ascent lineup, offering the peace of mind of safe distancing, emergency braking, intelligent course-corrective feedback and more. Plus, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert remain an option, enhancing your situational awareness along the way. A trifecta of cameras – one in an available Smart Rear-View Mirror, another a standard Rear-Vision Camera, and a third, an available 180-degree front – join forces with available LED Steering Responsive Headlights to help out here as well.

STARLINK Safety and Security services also come available in 2019 Ascent, with its hallmark ability to call upon assistance when you need it, perform remote functions, and more. But, new for the model year are a Remote Engine Start with Climate Control feature, accessible using your smartphone, and a STARLINK Safety and Security Plus Concierge service, which offers tailored help with navigation, social activities, and scheduling auto service appointments.

The new 2019 Ascent experience comes together in a comfortable and inviting compartment that burgeons for you and yours up to 153.5 cubic feet. Its large cargo area incorporates under-floor storage for a final few essentials, and an available power rear gate simplifies access to all your swag at your destination. But that doesn't mean a lack of entertainment and connectivity for the duration. 2019 Subaru Ascent is also set to include our automaker's celebrated SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia infotainment system, which becomes an 8-inch touchscreen variant with built-in, voice-activated navigation system powered by TomTom in higher trims. What's more, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrate your smartphone, and available Wi-Fi connectivity put you in touch with civilization off the beaten path. Just crack open what promises to be an enormous 54-inch power tilt/sliding panoramic moonroof, and hit the road for adventure.

We at Tindol Subaru can't wait for the new SUV to show up on our doorstep. In the meantime, you needn't forgo the Subaru experience. Take the short drive to see us here at 1901 E. Franklin Blvd. in Gastonia and take a spin in the all-new Subaru Crosstrek, the rugged Forester, or the flagship Outback. We're sure it'll pique your interest in advance of the appearance of the new Ascent. We look forward to meeting you!
